Jurassic World Rebirth, released in 2025, is the seventh film in the Jurassic Park franchise. Directed by Gareth Edwards from a screenplay by original Jurassic Park writer David Koepp, the movie introduces a new cast of characters led by Scarlett Johansson and Mahershala Ali
Plot summary
Five years after the events of Jurassic World: Dominion, the global dinosaur population has declined, with most remaining dinosaurs living in isolated equatorial regions. A pharmaceutical company, Parker-Genix, sponsors a covert extraction team to retrieve DNA from three of the largest dinosaur species on a remote, dinosaur-infested island. The DNA is needed to create a miracle drug to cure heart disease.
Led by covert operations expert Zora Bennett (Scarlett Johansson), the team's mission is complicated when they cross paths with a shipwrecked civilian family. The two groups must work together to survive on the dangerous island, which holds a sinister, long-hidden secret related to InGen's original research. They discover mutated dinosaurs, dubbed "Mutadons," that were abandoned on the island after failed experiments.

Reception and legacy
Jurassic World Rebirth received mixed reviews from critics but generally positive reactions from audiences. Some critics found the story "hackneyed" but praised the action sequences, while audiences responded well to its emphasis on "dinosaur chaos" and return to the franchise's roots. The movie has been called a "new era" for the franchise, intended to launch a new trilogy. Director Gareth Edwards aimed to capture the awe and wonder of the original Jurassic Park while shifting to a "heist movie" tone.
